GLOBE HOPE AND SUOMEN WORLD VISION WORK TOGETHER.

Working together, Globe Hope helps children and families in rural Rwanda. By purchasing our World Vision partnership products, you too can help.

We donate 10% of each trade show mat product to help children living in extreme poverty in Rwanda. Donations will help ensure clean water for children in the Umurava region of Rwanda, improve children's health, develop children's education and improve livelihoods for families.

At Globe Hope, we get involved in doing good because we believe that every child has the right to grow up safe and healthy. Our partner, World Vision Finland, is one of Finland's largest development organisations and an independent part of the world's largest children's organisation, World Vision.

Our charity: Umurava, Rwanda

Umurava is located in the Gisagara district of southern Rwanda, about 150 kilometres from the capital Kigali. The region has a population of 71 000. It is also home to the Mugombwa refugee camp, which hosts 9 000 Congolese refugees. The area is rural and most local families are farmers.

Rwanda has a violent recent past. The genocide of 1994 is still reflected in people's daily lives: many children and young people live in poverty as a result of the loss of parents or other traumas.

A large proportion of children in Umurava are chronically malnourished. This is due to diseases caused by dirty water, inadequate nutrition and lack of health services.

In Umurava, school buildings are not safe or even weatherproof, and water floods in during heavy rains. The quality of education is also poor, with too few teachers and class sizes of up to 50 children. Many children are forced to drop out of primary school because they have to go to work to help their families.

With the support of donors and other donors, World Vision Finland is addressing these injustices.
